Wearing wet things around your neck/head helps. Dust wont be a problem, as it just shakes out when things dry, and it is ubiquitous out there. You are one with the dust.

I use a white shemagh and try to keep it wet. It also doubles as a face mask and keeps the sun off you. White ones are best as I’ve found that any colors will tend to bleed color out onto your shirt.

Last year my wet shemagh was a fucking magnet for wasps. They are one of the few insects you’ll see out there and they are attracted to water. Got stung twice. It was totally worth it though, kept me coolish.

If you need to sleep during the day, you really need to work on your sleeping situation. A shade over your tent, a swamp cooler, a hexayurt with swamp cooler (best option!) all work. My hexayurt with swamp cooler stays nice and cool all day long, its dark and has wonderful cool moist air inside. It can actually get chilly in there during the heat of the day.

Its hot out there, but its not Miami hot.
