* /u/checkitoutmyfriend on /r/BurningMan I’m a tool whore and use them almost daily so I spend a few more bucks on them. I’ve had had all the major brands of cordless drills over the years. The last go around I went with Milwaukee18v M18 Fuel kit. These go on sale frequently on Amazon, HD etc. so it pays to shop around. Many say they use the ‘Impact’ driver for lags. (the smaller of the two in the link) However the ‘Hammer Drill’ (left in the link) works better in my experience. Set the collar for hammer and get to screwing lags! I use the ‘Impact’ when disassembling the vehicles. It seems to not work so good when ‘screwing’ screws of any size. The impact is better on bolts and nuts. Like wheel lug nuts.

The M18 batts last forever and charge quick. I did all my lags, (a dozen or so) plus my neighbors 8 lags, all in and out with two bars left on the single batt.

If I was not a tool guy, HF FTW! As many say, if its not for fire, life and safety, HF tools…… haha

As mentioned, bring extra deep Impact grade sockets, hex to ³⁄₈” drive adapters as they both can get wobbled out. And a socket wrench when it all fails together.
