* /u/stepcut251 on /r/BurningMan Yes, I used 6” wide strips of vinyl which I contact cemented. On permanent joints I used contact cement the entire way across. On the temporary joints half the vinyl was contact cemented and the other half used this velcro:

One side went on the yurt and the other side when on the vinyl.

Some people reported that their contact cement did not hold up well in the sun. I think mine got a bit tacky in places as well, but I didn’t really want to poke at it and break what seemed to be holding. Putting foil over the vinyl probably would have helped, but I ran out of time. The contact cement was also a major pain to work with. So if I was going to change something it would be a better fixative than the CC.
