Light strip. The lights i ordered is 5V, 30 lights per meter IP67 (with the rubber stuff around it). The rubber makes a good defuser.

Controller. For this, we cut off the barrel plug and wired in a USB plug so it would work with the battery packs we got.

Clear pipe.

hose clamps. I don’t remember if this was the size I got but it was something similar. I might have gone bigger.

For assembly:

Cut about 15 feet of light strip. Plug your controller in and plug the other end into battery pack (as stated before with modified plug). Test it to make sure it works. These string lights are from China and often don’t. To get the string of lights into the tube, I found the relative center and tied a piece of string onto it. Dropped the string down the tube and fed the lights in as the wife pulled on the other end. Secured at the top by holding the string out and pushing on the pipe cap.

To attach to the bike, I used the hose clamps wrapped around the supporting bars of the back rack on the bike. Secured battery packs to bike with zip ties. I’d suggest finding a different way than this as the battery packs kept slipping out.
