The biggest issue I found was trying to find the pads. You can definitely order them online, but in some parts of the country (like apparently Oregon), Home Depot and the like just don’t carry them because nobody has swamp coolers. I bought some from a local furnace place, but it ended up being hugely expensive. I was running out of time so had to hand over the cash to them to get it done. Hence “start early” is good :)

One thing I did different from the standard Figjam is to use insulated ducting to push the air out. It’s not that flexible metal or plastic stuff that has no insulation, but fully insulated meaning you don’t lose much cool.
