* /u/Anjin on /r/BurningMan One thing I saw that I really liked this year was someone who had hard sided lockboxes instead of baskets on their bike, in front of the handlebar and over the rear wheel. That way you could put a good amount of stuff on the bike and go off with something like a holster + bottle… or do they make bandoliers with pockets? Like your diagonal strap just without the backpack. Just a light strap with some pockets and a hook or something to hang a bottle at your waist.

I think I’m tired of having a backpack. I’m almost never without my bike though, I’m always careful to lock it up at all levels of sobriety, I’m always careful to park it places I can find it at all levels of sobriety, and I can have the backpack at camp or in the lockbox (or two small water backpacks in both places) for the times when I want to leave the bike too.
