* /u/Jovankat on /r/BurningMan As /u/Seditous says above is is absolutely cheaper to buy a tent (and most other camping gear) in the US compared to Australia where OP is coming from. Like laughably so, this tent is US$207.43 on Amazon and Prime eligible whereas the exact same tent is AUD$449 from Ray’s Outdoors on Parramatta Rd in Sydney. That’s about USD$341. I was dubious when folks told me but it really is true, camping gear in Australia is crazy expensive.

/u/Codien I’d recommend getting yourself a tent in the US, either off Amazon (you should be able to get a free Prime trial for free shipping) or from an REI and then take it home with you to use at Burning Seed, Modifyre and Blazing Swan and/or bring it back with you next year. Whatever you do don’t just dump it when you’re done.
