HIGHFINE TFC1212DE Ultra Strong 12cm 120mm DC 12V 3.90A 252CFM 4pin PWM with Speed Sensor Server Inverter Axial Case Cooling Fan
Why we love it?
4 wires 4 pin PWM+Tac Sensor. Fan will start at low speed, then go up to full speed after 10 seconds (NOTE: This fan doesn’t work with Antminer S7 S9) MOST POWERFUL OF ALL 120mm FANS
Some comments about this we saw on the web:
* /u/DriftLogic on /r/BurningMan I had a v1.0 shiftpod last year under aluminet shade structure with a standard 5 gallon bucket cooler with this 252CFMFan (at full blast) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LWL2FIY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a vornado fan inside. We had built a power grid at my camp so I had standard AC power.
Last year was insanely hot and the I don’t think the cooler really knocked the temp down by more than 5-8 degrees. It was certainly pumping cold air and I could cool my face down and body if i was close to the input, but it wasn’t enough. I heard of someone basically putting a sheet over the input of the cooler to create a smaller area to cool and they were good. I would make sure to put your head/bed toward the input of the cooler. I think you need a bigger evap cooler though than the 5 gal. Something else I saw as an alt design: http://yurtcooler.com/ … i think a trashcan sized evap cooler could work or a much larger bin. I’d also try and space the duracool pad so it’s not flush with the the bucket and put some spacers to give more room for airflow to come through. I think a newer shiftpod will do a little bit better.
