Some comments about this we saw on the web:* /u/elisd42 on /r/BurningMan I carabiner a small enameled-metal mug to my person and carry a cheap pocketknife.
I have a very small first aid kit in a little zippered pouch that I usually have with me: latex gloves, gauze (roll and pads), tape, bandaids, alcohol wipes, ibuprofin, benadryl, compact emergency blanket, moleskin, tweezers.
If I’m wearing contacts I carry a small bottle of solution and a contact case with me. Sometimes (rarely) the dust gets in them badly enough that I just need to take them out on the spot.
I also tend to usually have $10 or so with me in case I end up going by an Arctica location on my way home and the line is short. I have mixed feelings about this.
During the day I have a soft bucket hat that crumples up pretty small that I will pack if I’m not wearing a more substantial hat. It’s something like this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0058YU18E/
At night I always have at least a headlamp and battery-powered glowstick in addition to whatever fancier personal illumination I’m wearing (EL Wire breaks and/or runs out of batteries more quickly than these things).
