Some comments about this we saw on the web:

* /u/dj1z on /r/BurningMan No. Goalzero does seem steep in price.

Im currently looking at the 50w or 100w flexible panels someone else shared. the controller has usb ports that can charge my Anker usb power packs.

and i can also decide if i want to find a deep cycle battery (& inverter) when I’m in the US after I arrive to add to it.

Id love to add a swamp cooler, but we’ll see about logistics to make one.

That will tell you what voltage and current requirements will be to power them. Usually folks just want household plugs, usb plugs and 12V DC wiring for everything else.

Camping / auto / boating stuff is almost all 12V DC, which happens to be what most batteries run at.

It isn’t just power source and storage but the wiring for your structure and availability of outlets as you need for your camp setup. You kind of need to think in terms of camp patterns, not just electricity. Also, fuses are a nice thing to have so you can have little mistakes and not ruin your stuff.

I really don’t like generators, and have been doing solar since my second burn.

This is my favorite solar panel right now, I’ll probably add at least a second, possibly a third for this year.
