3M Advanced Particulate Filter, 2297, P100 (Pack of 2 Filters)

Why we love it?

I bought some of these here for testing, but the price is too high for regular use. Can be found significantly cheaper in bulk (cases of 100 packages of 2 each). I have been using the 3M 2097 filters for allergy protection from wood smoke (Creosote), welding fumes fresh cut grass and various other vapors.


Some comments about this we saw on the web:

* /u/yesimmadbros on /r/BurningMan info about mask types: N95 means 95% of solid particles are filtered. N100 means 100% of solid particles. for everything vapor and gaseous, you have to look at the list of ratings directly on the filter specs, there are codes and you can see everything it filters. presumably the cheapest version of what you want is an N100 with “organic vapors” or whatever that class is that’s added on, I think they are pink colored from 3M.
