* /u/pb_ee1 on /r/BurningMan I’ve been bringing the same Mac laptop for 3 years and DJed in full whiteouts with no problem, and no noticeable dust inside the laptop.To do that, I do two things:
- Cover the keys with saran wrap: cut a appropriately shaped piece and stick it with gaffer tape around the keys (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DVCHPUW?tag=dirtyhippie-20)
- Cover the ENTRANCES for the air circulation with a mesh sheet that filters everything > 1 micron (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FMWCO0?tag=dirtyhippie-20). FYI, most particles on the playa are 4 microns or more. I leave the exits (right below the screen) opened, as no air is supposed to get in this way. I tape the mesh sheet so it covers all entrances (on the side of the Mac) and voilà!
